As part of my training, I spent 8 years in the RAF, interpreting
aerial photography in the form of black and white, colour, infra-red
and IRFC. The very first job I did was mapping the oil-spillage
from the Torrey Canyon in 1967.
Living abroad, I became interested in seascapes and underwater
photography. During my years in the Bahamas, my experience was
further enhanced as I became more involved in underwater yogic
photography, as well as rum, salsa, grinning a lot and taking
portraits of the local inhabitants, their way of life' and culture.
I was commissioned to take several images for a cargo ship sailing
the Caribbean, and won several awards in 1984 from the Bahamas
Chamber of Commerce.
I now reside in a gulag in the Yorkshire Dales.
